Flutter & Fly

It finally feels like spring is here so it's the perfect time to introduce our new collection: Flutter & Fly. This collection is all about the eye-catching prints which are great for adding a fun element to an outfit. Bird prints are always a popular choice at Miss Shorthair and feather motifs are on trend for SS16.

Many of these scarves come in a variety of colour options, from coral to sky blue. For those who like a statement scarf, we have a multi-coloured bird print with tassel edging.

The Flutter & Fly collection not only includes scarves but also kimonos adorned with pretty motifs from butterflies to hummingbirds. Kimonos are set to be popular once more this season and we have several different styles to choose from. Our sleeveless style is an ideal cover-up for days at the beach and our long length kimonos are a gorgeous way to layer over denim shorts and a vest top.

Staff Q&A: Doreen

This week our Q&A is with Doreen Pupillo who is the Assistant Manager at Miss Shorthair.

Describe your role at Miss Shorthair in one sentence…
The one in charge when Miss Shorthair isn’t here!

What’s your favourite thing about working at Miss Shorthair?
I am very lucky to work with a great team of people every day in an industry that I have always had an interest in.

Where’s the best place you’ve traveled to?
Last November I travelled to China with work which was completely surreal. Probably not a place that I would have been able to visit myself and a place unlike any I have ever been before!

However I definitely prefer the food in Italy!

What three things couldn’t you live without?
My phone
Snacks
Friends

What’s your favourite thing to do during weekends?
Catching up with friends and family, eating nice food and going for walks around Glasgow.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
I definitely feel that I shouldn’t watch the Kardashians but occasionally I do and I love it!

What’s your favourite season?
100% summer

What is the last thing you took a photo of?
My flat mate's snake (Colin) wrapping round the coffee table.

If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you’d buy?
A round the world trip.

Which is your favourite scarf from our spring collection?

Painterly Prints

Painterly prints is our latest collection available online, along with our new lookbook. As seen on the runways for S/S16, many designers have used a range of painting techniques to create unique prints. Dolce & Gabbana featured bold brushstrokes, Altuzarra included tie-dye and Christopher Raeburn opted for an oil painting effect.

Our collection features a wide variety of prints from serene landscapes to abstract designs. These work beautifully on large silk fabric for an elegant look, as well as cotton styles for adding interest to a casual outfit.

The scarves combine a mixture of colours in either bright or subdued tones. We suggest when styling to make them the main focal point by keeping the rest of the outfit fairly simple, perhaps with a jumpsuit or trench coat.
