Just in time for Christmas, Italian Made Wool Scarves!

Yesterday was an exciting day for us at Miss Shorthair when we launched our luxurious Italian Collection on our webstore. What a hit they have been! We're glad you're loving them as much as we do. The idea behind this collection was sparked from an Italian holiday, where the street style and the simply cool look grabbed our designers attention. It wasn't long before the designs had been drawn up, and we were creating new styles for the Winter season.

As wool products are all the rage this season, these scarves are comprised of the softest Wool & Cashmere Blend, making them snug and extra special. The classic styling is perfect for both men and women so will fit nicely into your store in either department. With 10 sumptuous colours to choose from, these unisex scarves are an ideal gift for a loved one this Christmas. With the bold range of colours, you can find a scarf for everyone!

We are proud to present our latest luxury collection just in time for Christmas. 🎁⛄🎄

Soft Autumnal Pinks

We at Miss Shorthair are loving soft pinks for Autumn! These pinks are a sophisticated alternative to the darker shades we tend to see around this time of year. Pinks that are usually seen as being delicate and feminine were seen dominating the catwalks of Alexander McQueen, Prada, Gucci and many more this Autumn/Winter 16 season. We have selected some of our own styles that you can rock this Autumn.

You can purchase all these styles at >>> http://missshorthair.co.uk/collections/seasonal-picks

Featured: Handwoven Indian Scarves

We set the scene in the Himalayan valley of Manali, India. This valley is nestled high up in the Himalayas, far away, near the top of the world. The weaving industry is a main source of income in this community, situated on the trade route known as the Wool Road. This art form has remained unchanged for centuries.

It continues today using traditional framed looms and skills passed down from generation to generation. Sourcing yarn from local mountain sheep, goats and yaks, the industry continues to support all aspects of the community. The final product is stunningly intricate and masterfully constructed. We are delighted to be providing these beautifully handwoven, 100% wool scarves to our customers this Autumn.

Staff Q&A: Kerry

This week's Q&A is with Keri MacGuire who is the Credit Controller at Miss Shorthair.

Describe your role at Miss Shorthair in one sentence…
I take care of the credit customers, assess credit applications, review customer accounts, issue statements, answer queries and chase down overdue payments.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Miss Shorthair?
We have a very young and vibrant office with a mix of personalities. The one thing that we all have in common is, we are always happy to help each other out.

Where’s the best place you’ve traveled to?
I have recently been to Disney world Orlando. I took my 4 year old son, so it was really magical, as he still believes the characters are all real.

What three things couldn’t you live without?
My son, WiFi and my make-up.

What’s your favourite thing to do during weekends?
I spend Friday evenings with friends, eating out or going to the cinema. The rest of the weekend is reserved for fun time with my son, soft play, kids parties and dressing up like superheroes.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Most people listen to feel good music in the car. But my guilty pleasure is turning up sad songs to maximum volume and singing along on my commute (I've had some funny looks).

What is the last thing you took a photo of?
I took a picture of my son. He has chicken pox at the moment. So he wanted me to send it to his daddy at work. He's quite proud of how many he has.

If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you’d buy?
I'm saving to buy a house at the moment. So it would probably be that, or just a huge shopping spree.

Which is your favourite scarf from our spring collection?
I like 2156RE. I really like the nautical theme.

Seascape

Seascape is our latest collection available online, along with our new look book. As seen on the catwalks for S/S16, many designers have included seaside themes in their collections. Nautical stripes were seen at Max Mara and there were coral and shell motifs seen at Emelio Pucci.

Our collection features a variety of striped styles, as well as a range of prints from starfish to anchors. With many of us planning trips to the seaside this summer, these make the perfect accessory. They could either be worn thrown over a bikini or to layer up when the British breeze gets too chilly!

Festival Styling

There are plenty of reasons to love summer, and music festivals are at the top of the list for many of us. For those who have tickets, it's a great excuse for a new range of outfits! From colourful kimonos to tasseled scarves, we have plenty of styles for various festival-goers tastes.

Outfit with 8047

There's no better time to wear bright colours than at a festival. A touch of neon set against white and denim is the perfect way to do colour this season.

Outfit with 2182

Paisley prints are a popular look for festival dressing. Our paisley scarves look great teamed with one of this season's boho style dresses, as well as some fringed suede.

If you're planning on stocking up for the festival season, we have a collection you can shop here.

Flutter & Fly

It finally feels like spring is here so it's the perfect time to introduce our new collection: Flutter & Fly. This collection is all about the eye-catching prints which are great for adding a fun element to an outfit. Bird prints are always a popular choice at Miss Shorthair and feather motifs are on trend for SS16.

Many of these scarves come in a variety of colour options, from coral to sky blue. For those who like a statement scarf, we have a multi-coloured bird print with tassel edging.

The Flutter & Fly collection not only includes scarves but also kimonos adorned with pretty motifs from butterflies to hummingbirds. Kimonos are set to be popular once more this season and we have several different styles to choose from. Our sleeveless style is an ideal cover-up for days at the beach and our long length kimonos are a gorgeous way to layer over denim shorts and a vest top.

Painterly Prints

Painterly prints is our latest collection available online, along with our new lookbook. As seen on the runways for S/S16, many designers have used a range of painting techniques to create unique prints. Dolce & Gabbana featured bold brushstrokes, Altuzarra included tie-dye and Christopher Raeburn opted for an oil painting effect.

Our collection features a wide variety of prints from serene landscapes to abstract designs. These work beautifully on large silk fabric for an elegant look, as well as cotton styles for adding interest to a casual outfit.

The scarves combine a mixture of colours in either bright or subdued tones. We suggest when styling to make them the main focal point by keeping the rest of the outfit fairly simple, perhaps with a jumpsuit or trench coat.

Modern Classic

Modern classic is our latest collection to launch online and it's already been a firm favourite at the spring trade shows. With chic and simplistic designs, inspiration has been drawn from SS16 collections including Christian Dior, Eudon Choi and Emperio Armani.

Think lightweight modal and soft cotton material, with frayed edges and subtle prints. These scarves are for the woman who opts for versatile accessories which she can easily add to her outfits for work to the weekend.

The colour pallette is a mixture of neutrals and pastels which are always popular at this time of year. These muted tones look great mixed with darker tones such as navy and grey as you can see from our outfit builds below.
